Brandon Burks is a singer, song writer, and producer who grew up in Gulfport, MS. One of eight children, Brandon was deeply influenced by his mother, a singer and his father, a drummer. By the age of ten, Brandon taught himself how to play several instruments, including the piano, drum, and guitar. Later, Brandon developed a strong passion for R&B. He became influenced by the music of Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Joe Thomas, which helped him develop his own distinctive R&B and pop music vocal styling.

As a youth, Brandon won a number of local talent shows and became a member of several R&B groups. However, Brandon quickly moved beyond these groups, allowing him to pursue his own musical passion.  Word of Brandon’s talent quickly spread along the coast, and  he found himself being hired to write and produce for R&B singers, produce beats for rappers, and sing hooks on rap songs.

In addition to writing and producing for others, Brandon continued to develop his own style. Passionate to share his music with others, he  released his first solo album, self entitled, Brandon, in 2009. The success of this album led to him opening up for Grammy Award winning duo K-C and JoJo and R&B artist Tank. He also opened up for platinum recording artists such as Chico Debarge, Jon B, and Verse Simmonds.

Later, R&B artist Marques Houston heard Brandon’s  track “Let Me Be Your DJ” in its early stages of production. He was impressed by Brandon’s melody, production, and vocal style on the track, which encouraged Brandon to release “Let me Be Your DJ” as his next single. As the song began to receive several accolades, Brandon found himself further inspired to use the single for the production of his first music video. In 2014, Brandon officially released his next single, “My Cologne”, which received heavy air play. Shortly there after, a local media outlet on the Gulf Coast presented him with the award for R&B Artist of the Year. Since then, Brandon’s song ,“My Cologne” , has been featured on several R&B mix tapes. Brandon is currently working on the completion of his sophomore album which he expects to release in early 2016 with a promotional tour to follow.
